70th CLIMMAR Congress: A Milestone for Agricultural Machinery Dealers in Hamburg
Online since 24-10-2024
CLIMMAR, the association of Dealers and Distributors of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment, held its annual Congress in Hamburg on 23-24 October 2024, hosted by the German CLIMMAR member LandBauTechnik. Representatives from 16 member organisations gathered to discuss the state of play and important issues on the European dealers and distributors agenda.
"Agricultural machinery dealers are going through a major transition and our collective strength will determine the way forward. Ongoing consolidation among manufacturers, disruptions in global supply chains and persistent inflation have made business more difficult over the past year," stated CLIMMAR President Roberto Rinaldin at the 70th CLIMMAR Congress in Hamburg, Germany. The event, which brought together agricultural machinery dealers from across Europe, set the scene for a fruitful exchange. During the Congress, members discussed current issues relevant to the sector as well as the future development of the association.
Vice President, Stéphane Leblond, commented on the current transformation of agriculture: "The rise of precision farming and the increasing use of data-driven technologies presents both a challenge and an opportunity for dealers. Our ability to adapt and act as a knowledgeable resource for farmers will be critical in the coming years. Dealers are the important point where the transition takes place, as the intermediary between the factory floor and the farm".
Reflecting on the milestone of the 70th CLIMMAR Congress, Vice President Stefan Sprock added: "Since 1953, CLIMMAR has organised 70 Congresses in 18 European countries to meet and discuss the situation of agricultural machinery dealers. Over the years the topics have changed, but the central part, the sense of community, has remained the same. Today, as dealers face unprecedented challenges in adapting to a rapidly changing sector, the opportunity to share experiences is more important than ever. Looking forward CLIMMAR remains committed to empowering dealers across Europe fostering partnership and advocating for their political interests."
Looking to the future, Treasurer Howard Pullen highlighted the contribution of CLIMMAR members to the development of the association for the benefit of dealers across Europe: "Our working groups provide a useful area to share and learn from the experiences of dealer organisations across Europe. Our working groups are active in a variety of areas, including the Branch Report, the DSI, dealer contracts, education, exhibitions, gardening and innovation, demonstrating that CLIMMAR covers a wide range of topics."
Next year in October 2025 the CLIMMAR-Congress will be in Italy, our member-Association-Federacma proudly invites us to Turin.
